Sessional Support Worker

Location:                         Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot

Rate of pay:                    £8.21 per hour

Essential car user’s allowance:  £61.25 per month

Work mileage reimbursed at:  31 1/2 pence per mile

Additional allowance for any Sleep-in shift worked

Other benefits:               Company Pension with generous employer’s contribution

Hours per week:             Variety of contracts available up to 37 hours per week

Community Lives Consortium is a Registered Charity and Domiciliary Care Agency that provides support for people with a learning or physical disability to live the life they choose in their own home within the communities of Swansea, Neath & Port Talbot. We are currently looking for flexible and committed Support Workers to provide a quality service to the people we support.

We are currently looking for Sessional Support Workers to provide support for adults with a learning disability who live independently within the community. This can include assisting with cooking/preparing meals; housekeeping/laundry, accompanying the people we support at social, leisure, recreational activities, hobbies and providing personal care. Every person we support is an individual and they will look to you to work in a safe and professional way.

Sessional Support Workers are normally expected to work during the hours of 7.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m. and provide a number of support sessions during each shift. These shifts will include weekends and Public Holidays. However, full flexibility is required to work a variety of shifts including morning, afternoon, wakeful nights and sleep-ins when necessary, this is to enable movement of staff throughout the organisation.
We offer a thorough training programme with an opportunity to gain a QCF Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care. This qualification is provided free of charge by the Consortium to give you all the skills required to provide an excellent customer service.
Due to the nature of this role you will be required to travel, therefore you will be required:
– to own or have permanent access to a vehicle (you will receive a monthly allowance for this).
– to hold a full current driving license that enables you to legally drive within the UK.
– to have vehicle insurance that allows you to legally drive in connection with your employment or employer’s business (Business Class 1 vehicle insurance).

You will be required to provide evidence of all of the above.
Holiday entitlement will be based on 29 days (pro rata) per annum rising to 33 days (pro rata) per annum after 5 completed year’s continuous service.
