Information about your tenancy
In this section is information about:
Your home and Landlord.
Your rights and responsibilities as a Tenant.
Making it my home.
You should also have other information provided for you by your Landlord.
This will include:
Your Tenancy Agreement
Your Tenant’s Guarantee.
If you have not got this information please speak to your Keyworker or Housing Support Co-ordinator.
Your Landlord should also provide you information about:

Who the Landlord is.
The Rent and any Service Charges that they make.
How they will repair and look after your home.
How you can ask for another home from them.
You and your support staff should keep a record of any requests that you have made to your landlord and any concerns or complaints that you have made to them.
You can also keep any letters you have written to yopur Landlord and any letters that they have written to you.

Housing Support Co-ordinators and your staff will help you to understand this information and make the most of your rights as a Tenant.
Your home and Landlord
These are your Rights as a Tenant:

You can have your own key, if it is safe for you to do so.

You can have privacy in your home

You can invite friends & family to visit your home.

You can choose some of the paint, wallpaper and furniture for your home.

You should have repairs carried out promptly

You should be safe in your home.

You can move if you want to.

You can make a complaint if you are unhappy about your home or the people you live with.

You should not to be upset or frightened by anyone else in your own home.

You can have a say about the service you receive from the Consortium and decisions which affect your life
These are my Responsibilities as a tenant:

You must pay rent promptly.
You or your guests must not annoy, upset or frighten other people in your home.
You must not damage the property in any way.

You must not do anything in my home, which breaks the law

You must keep the interior of your home and the furniture, fixtures and fittings in a good and clean condition.
You must pay for any damage caused by you or your guests.
You must allow access to the Landlord as and when required (you will always be contacted beforehand if the Consortium or your landlord need to enter your flat for any reason).
You must accept the support that you need to keep my Tenancy.
Making it My Home

Because you have a tenancy agreement and pay rent it means that the place you live is YOUR home. You might live on your own or with other people.
You must be able to have a say about the things that happen in your home, and agree some rules if you live with other people.
You will also want to agree rules for the staff who support you.
You can agree rules with the people you live with and staff who support you by using the:
Tenants’ House Rules Agreement
Some rules you might want to agree with the PEOPLE YOU LIVE WITH are:
How we will pay for our bills.
How we will pay and sort our food out.
We should keep out of each other’s rooms unless invited in.
If we have visitors we should not be disturbed;
We will meet together to have a House Meeting on a regular basis to talk about how every thing is going. We can decide how often we want to meet.
Some rules you might want to agree with the STAFF WHO SUPPORT YOU are:
Staff must not invite other people into my house without asking me or the other people I live with.
Staff will buy their own food and keep it separate to ours.
Not all staff will have a key to my home.
Staff will not hold meetings in my house.
