Will the Support Worker be paid travel time?
- Yes this will be incorporated into the rota
What about travel time and mileage for Support Workers? Would contracted time start from leaving their own home?
- Contracted time will start from arrival at the first service. Mileage will be paid at the normal rate.
What about non-drivers or staff who don’t have a car?
- We will need to look at the services in relation to public transport routes.
Will the mileage allowance be paid in the same way? What about the monthly delay in getting back money spent on travel? Will this cost the Consortium and the staff more?
- We will have a discussion with personnel about this. There are some possibilities in this area.
Will the staff have to pay more for business insurance in order to claim mileage costs?
- In order to claim travel expenses staff must have business insurance. Its advisable to shop around as some companies don’t charge extra for business.
For non drivers, public transport is not good in the area before 8:00, after 6:00pm and Sundays
- We will need to take this into consideration when designing the rota.
